Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, established in 1997 to commemorate the 170th anniversary of the death of the famous composer, has become an important part of European cultural life. Its importance was recognised by the European Festivals Association based in Gent (Belgium), which accepted the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival as a new member of the Association in October 2001.

The programme of each edition of the Festival, held since 2004 in Warsaw (for the first 7 years - in Cracow) is different, and shows the achievements of European music in an interesting and diverse way. Each edition puts a completely different perspective on the works of Beethoven and allows us to understand his role in the world of contemporary art, where he drew inspiration from and what influence his music had on the creators of other epochs.
